Unit 3: Positive Psychology for Wellbeing

  • Introduction to Positive Psychology and the Language of Wellbeing: Explore the fundamentals of Positive Psychology and the language of wellbeing.

  • Leverage Strengths and Needs for Wellbeing and Team Dynamics: Understand and uncover how to leverage individual strengths and needs to support personal wellbeing, enhance team dynamics and adaptability.

  • Introduction to the PERMA Model: The PERMA framework is used to foster wellbeing and cultivate meaningful relationships within teams.

  • How to create Meaning and Belonging: Understand the importance of purpose, values, and authentic self-expression in fostering a sense of belonging and meaning within teams.

Unit 4: Building Psychological Capital and Resilience

  • Positive Psychological Capital and Internal Resources: Learn how a team can build their internal resources - relationships, confidence, optimism, hope and resilience - to impact their wellbeing and performance.

  • Burnout Prevention: Use concepts learnt from positive psychological capital to build burnout resilience.

  • Communication Skills and Wellbeing: Overcome communication barriers and conflict to support team wellbeing, create healthy team dynamics and performance.

MONTH THREE

Unit 1: Understanding Team Dynamics

  • Introduction to Team Dynamics: Define what team dynamics are and their importance in achieving organisational goals.

  • Factors Influencing Healthy Team Dynamics: Explore the prerequisites that establish good group dynamics and the factors that hinder healthy team dynamics.

  • Interpersonal Dynamics: Understand how personality differences, communication styles and cultural backgrounds contribute to misunderstandings and poor performance. Build self-awareness and appreciate diversity.

  • Combatting Silo Mentality: Break down barriers by understanding what’s at risk if you don’t.

Unit 2: Self-Awareness and Unconscious Bias Management

  • Self-Awareness: Understand why self-awareness is the meta-skill of the 21st Century, why only 10% of individuals are self-aware and why self-awareness matters more than ever for our wellbeing, performance and relationships.

  • Understanding Unconscious Bias: Recognise biases and stereotypes that impact team dynamics and limit individual, team and organisational adaptability.

  • Perfectionism: Discover how perfectionism undermines adaptability, diminishes wellbeing and erodes confidence, along with effective interventions to address it.

  • Psychological Safety and Authenticity: Cultivate an environment where team members feel safe to express themselves and communicate authentically. Remove perfectionism and fear of failure to drive innovation, wellbeing and performance.

Unit 5: Goal Achievement and Wellbeing

  • Understand why Teams need Purpose: Explore the importance of creating a team purpose, including the significance of aligning organisational goals with individual goals (to support wellbeing and self-efficacy) for achievement of purpose.

  • Uncover the theory of motivation: Learn the three psychological needs required for psychological health and wellbeing

  • Building Internal Resources for Adaptability: Gain insight into how personal perceptions of change influence behavior and adaptability.

  • Shame Resilience: Explore how fostering healthy team dynamics, connection and trust build resistance to shame and encourages creativity and innovation.

Unit 6: Leadership Readiness (optional)

  • Self-Leadership: Recognise that leadership is a learned behaviour grounded in self-awareness. Learn the need to develop as a person before become a good leader.

  • Mindful Leadership: Acquire practical techniques of mindful leadership that you can apply to your leadership, your team and your personal life.

  • Values-Based Leadership: Understand how aligning actions with your personal values fosters wellbeing, influences your decision-making and elevates long-term effectiveness and success in leadership roles.
